As a person of faith, I wholeheartedly believe the courageous women who have shared their stories of being sexually preyed upon by Brett Kavanaugh, who is now facing nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. Their stories deserve to be heard and investigated.

These profound moral failings render Judge Kavanaugh unfit to serve as judge. We need a Supreme Court justice who rules with justice -- not one whose character has been marred by sexual violence. I stand with and pray for these women who have bravely come forward and spoken out.

As a leader in a faith community, I pledge to stand against the dark currents in our culture that dehumanize women, and to build a society in which everyone is safe and free to flourish. That starts with the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh being fully investigated before he receives a vote on confirmation to a position of honor and responsibility on the Supreme Court.
