As faith leaders from many traditions, we all hold firmly to the values of freedom, human dignity, and equal justice under the law. That is why we call on the Senate to quickly confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Judge Jackson is a distinguished scholar and champion for everyday Americans from all backgrounds. She has upheld our rights in the workplace, in courtrooms and jails, and in the public square – ensuring those who are most vulnerable, including people with disabilities, workers, and immigrants have the representation they deserve. This respect for humanity and justice goes hand in hand with our many faith values.

We need a justice on the Supreme Court who understands how our Constitution and laws can make a difference in people’s lives – for good and for ill. We need a justice who understands that justice is not blind. Judge Jackson, as the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court, will be that judge. 

Judge Jackson said upon being nominated that she has come this far by faith. Together in faith, we must complete our country’s long journey to equal justice. Senators, confirm Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court swiftly. Our nation has stalled for far too long.
