White supremacy is one of our nation’s gravest sins. It is long past time for our nation to attempt to remedy the lasting effects of systemic racism. By cosponsoring this legislation, you can invest in a more moral future for our nation. Grappling with repenting of our legacy of slavery and redressing discriminatory policies that have killed and exploited Black people for centuries is an essential step toward living out our nation’s promise of liberty and justice for all.
