As people of faith, we know that the right to vote is sacred. Every person has a stake in our common good and the right to be heard in an election. Florida legislators have proposed anti-voting rights legislation that would threaten this most sacred right. After the recent attacks on voting rights in Georgia, these proposed bills are the latest attempts to limit our ability to be heard at the ballot box. 

We are urging the Florida legislature to reject these harmful proposals and instead focus on issues that help all Floridians. Programs like “Souls to the Polls” and vote by mail initiatives represent the best of our public life. Florida can and should reject any attempts to discourage voters -- voters choose their elected officials instead of elected officials choosing their voters. Reject these anti-voting proposals now!
