As people of faith, we believe that all people have inherent dignity, no matter where they are from. Our immigration policies must reflect this value. As we’ve witnessed the immoral deportations of thousands of immigrants, we call on Congress to pass legislation that provides a path to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented immigrants and prioritizes keeping families together in the country they call home.

Immigrants are our neighbors, loved ones, and community members. For far too long, immigrant families have lived in fear of being torn apart because Congress has failed to act. Raids, detentions and deportations wreck havoc on entire communities. 

But Congress has an opportunity to set our nation on a better moral path by taking bold action for justice. Citizenship can’t wait. We reject any additional funding for enforcement measures that further harm our immigrant neighbors. Our elected lawmakers must act immediately to heal our country, honor the dignity of immigrant families, and recognize the dignity and contributions of all people who build their lives in this nation.
